The Toyota Kalahari Botswana 1000 Desert Race is the premier off-road racing event held in Southern Africa, and is the biggest race on the ABSA Championship.  It’s a race that takes place in Botswana, over a distance of 1000km and a different course is laid out each year.

The Toyota Kalahari Botswana 1000 Desert Race has proved to be an exciting and rewarding environment for off-road racing, and has even been called the “Comrades Marathon” of off-road races. This endurance race has a diverse selection of participants, including motorcyclists and quad bikers  from all over Africa and is one not to be missed. This race is one of the biggest events in Botswana, and is therefore supported by the Botswana Government, as well as the Motorsport South Africa. Along with its existing and new sponsors The Desert Race now enjoys recognition and exposure both nationally and internationally. It’s a brand that continues to grow to heights never before seen in Off-Road Racing. The Desert Race is organised by C-For (Committee for Organising Off-Road Racing), which is a part of the Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa (FWDCSA).
